The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a famous trekking trail in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Ghorepani and Poon Hill are the names of the two villages visited on the trek. Due to its short trek and lack of difficulty, the trek can be done by everyone.

The trail passes through gorgeous waterfalls and rivers and leads you through forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine trees, as well as providing amazing views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The climb to Poon Hill (3,210m) in the early morning is the highlight of the trek, as it provides a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayas, including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

The trek can be done at any time of year, but the clearest months are September through Mid - December and February through May. Teahouses, which are modest lodgings with basic amenities like beds, blankets, and food, are available along the way.

Upon your arrival team from Moon Himalaya Adventure will be at Tribhuvan International Airport to receive you and will transfer you to Hotel. In the Evening you will have a briefing about your Ghorepani Poon Hill trek with a guide.

On the second day after having your breakfast, our guide will brief you about the trek. You can visit the world heritage sites (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath) but you have to pay entry fees on your own.

We'll be leaving Kathmandu today where the route follows alongside of Trishuli river en route to the scenic Kande, located at an elevation of 1,660 m. Starting from Kande, we will climb to Australian Camp at 1900 meters to have our first look at the region's most stunning mountains, including Annapurna II (7937 meters), Annapurna III (7555 meters), Annapurna IV (7525 meters), and Machapuchare (6993 meters).

As we set out from Australian camp after breakfast, we take a little descent before beginning a gradual ascent. Our trail passes through a number of Gurung settlements, including Pothana and Tolkha, where local farm terraced fields on the mountain's rich southern slopes. After having lunch in Tolka, we continue on to the beautiful village of Landruk, which provides a breathtaking panorama of the valley below.

Take in the breathtaking Himalayan views as we make our way down into the gorge. We travel across the 'New Bridge' over the Himalayan River Modi Khola, then through a little forest and climb up a slope to Jhinu Danda. You can have a warm soak in the natural hot springs, which are about 20 minutes farther down the trail. At Jhinu Danda, we will stop for lunch before continuing our hike to the top of the steep trail leading to Chhomrong that lies in the shadow of Annapurna South (7219m). You can enjoy the beautiful views of Annapurna and Macchhapucchhre from Chhomrong.

After having breakfast, we will start our trek where we will first descend to Kimrung Khola and will climb on to Tadapani. The Annapurna range can be seen in the distance as we make our way up the trek through the rain forest.

We will continue on to Ghorepani after having our breakfast at Tadapani. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Machhapuchare are all visible in a breathtaking vista. You'll make your way up and down this trail.

On this day we will wake up early and will hike up to Poonhill to witness the amazing sunrise over the Himalaya. The view is breathtaking when the rays of sun touches the Himlayas. Annapurna (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and other peaks including Machhapuchhre (6997m), Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), and others in the Annapurna range can be seen from Poon hill viewpoint. Then we will return to Ghorepani for breakfast. After that, we continue to walk up to Nayapul and take a vehicle to reach pokhara.

You will return to Kathmandu which takes around 7 hours of drive. After arriving Kathmandu, you will be transferred to hotel. You can take rest or visit around Thamel. In evening you will have farewell dinner with your guide.
